Teriyaki Chicken Wings

Whole fresh chicken wing pieces marinated, baked and basted in homemade teriyaki sauce. Great wings on their own, served with hot mustard sauce, or served with steamed white rice and Japanese soup.
Ingredients -
 
3 pounds Whole Chicken Wings
1/2 cup Orange Juice
1/4 cup Soy Sauce
2 tablespoons Ground Ginger
1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
1/2 teaspoon Coarse Salt
5 drops Hot Pepper Sauce
1 clove Garlic, minced
 
Preparation:
 

1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine orange juice, soy sauce, ground ginger, lemon juice, salt and tabasco sauce.

2. Place wings in sauce, cover, and marinate in refrigerator overnight.

3. Preheat oven to 350 F.

4. Remove from marinade, reserve teriyaki marinade for basting.

5. Bake 1 hour, baste with reserve marinade.

Cooking Tip

Hot Mustard Sauce
Whisk together 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar, 1/4 cup Chinese mustard powder, 1 teaspoon dark sesame oil, 1/2 lime, juiced, 1 tablespoon water, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 tablespoon grated ginger. While whisking, drizzle 3/4 cup peanut oil.

Cooking Tip

Ground Ginger
Substitute fresh ginger for the ground ginger. Peel and grate ginger, and mince finely.
